Woman-Owned Business Petals of Poppy Celebrates New Chapter in Schenectady

Petals of Poppy is a floral preservation studio specializing in transforming flowers from life’s most meaningful moments—weddings, memorials, anniversaries, and celebrations—into custom keepsakes designed to last a lifetime. Founded by Crystal Caisse, the business was inspired by her late grandfather, “Poppy,” and a lifelong appreciation for nature and creativity cultivated through her family’s landscaping business. By preserving both flowers and the memories attached to them, Petals of Poppy offers clients a unique way to honor and celebrate important milestones.

The Capital Region Chamber joined Petals of Poppy in celebrating its ribbon cutting at 26 N. Broadway in Schenectady, located within Capital CoWorks. The event brought together local leaders, partners, and community members to welcome the woman-owned business to downtown Schenectady.

Now celebrating three years in business, Petals of Poppy has grown from a passion project into a recognized floral preservation studio. The opening of its first brick-and-mortar location marks an exciting milestone, providing opportunities for expanded services, enhanced client experiences, and continued growth within a collaborative workspace environment.

Remarks were shared by Senator Jim Tedisco and John Samatulski of Capital CoWorks, who highlighted the importance of supporting small businesses and fostering entrepreneurship throughout the region. Emma Ciarmello, representing Assemblymember Angelo Santabarbara, presented a certificate of recognition, while Justin Chaires, Alexandria T. Carver, and Shenandoah Briere joined in welcoming the business to the community.

As a woman-owned business rooted in creativity, resilience, and purpose, Petals of Poppy is contributing to the continued vibrancy of downtown Schenectady. The celebration concluded with the official ribbon cutting, marking an exciting new chapter for Crystal and her growing business.

All 2026 ribbon cuttings of the Capital Region Chamber and its affiliates are sponsored by Community Bank, N.A.
