January 10, 2020WMHT Welcomes Dan Clark as Host and Producer of New York NOW
WMHT Public Media welcomes reporter Dan Clark as host of New York NOW, WMHT’s award-winning, statewide public affairs program. A frequent guest on the program, Clark will begin his role as host of the long-running program on Friday, January 10.
Clark has been reporting on New York state government and politics for the last six years, during which time he’s worked out of the state Capitol in Albany. Clark reported for the national political fact-checking publication PolitiFact, the Buffalo News, the statewide political television show Capital Tonight, and most recently the New York Law Journal.
At the New York Law Journal, Clark has focused on state legal challenges to President Donald Trump, as well as litigation concerning laws enacted by the New York State Legislature. Clark covered the Legislature in each role he’s held and is a familiar face to state lawmakers and staff.
“Dan brings a wealth of expertise to New York NOW,” notes Joseph Tovares, WMHT’s Vice President, Chief Content and Engagement Officer. “His leadership will allow us to advance civic participation by providing critical information across multiple platforms to the citizens of New York about their state government.”

Clark is a native of Afton, NY in Chenango County. He’s lived in Albany with his husband for nine years.
New York NOW has an extensive history of public affairs journalism with roots going back decades to 1968’s Capitol Report, 1975’s Inside Albany, followed by New York Week in Review. The series provides critical information across the state, both on-air and online, through the participation of our partner public media stations and our local media partner, the Times Union.
Times Union State Editor and Columnist, and long-time co-host of New York NOW, Casey Seiler, will continue as the host the program’s insightful Reporter’s Roundtable and as a contributing correspondent. Karen DeWitt, Capitol Bureau Correspondent for New York State Public Radio, will also continue to contribute to the program with in-depth reporting both on-air and online.
