Whiteman Osterman & Hanna Llp Welcomes Lori Sievers As Partner In Health Care Practice

Whiteman Osterman and Hanna LLP, the Capital Region’s largest law firm, is pleased to announce that Lori Sievers has joined the Firm as a Partner in its Health Care Practice.
Ms. Sievers brings more than two decades of experience representing New York assisted living and home care providers. She joins the Firm after a long career focused on licensure matters, survey issues, regulatory compliance, Office of Medicaid Inspector General audit defense, policy development, and change of owner transactions. Clients will benefit from her extensive understanding of both assisted living law and day-to-day facility operations, which allows her to develop practical and strategic solutions that align closely with provider goals.

The Firm’s Health Care Practice was established nearly a year ago to support New York’s rapidly evolving health care and long-term care landscape. Ms. Sievers’ deep industry experience and longstanding leadership within the assisted living community will significantly expand and amplify the work already underway, strengthening the group’s ability to support providers across the state.

Throughout her career, Ms. Sievers has served on numerous New York State task forces and workgroups on behalf of assisted living providers. Her leadership includes work with the Assisted Living Task Force, which developed New York’s assisted living regulation, and the Assisted Living Licensure Streamlining Group, which created the current Assisted Living Common Application. She also contributed to the workgroup that provided recommendations for the Assisted Living Program Need Methodology and collaborated with the Department of Health to create an alternative to the former mandatory residency agreement.

Ms. Sievers graduated cum laude from Boston University School of Law, where she served as a Note and Comment Editor for the Boston University Law Review. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from Binghamton University of New York, graduating cum laude. She is admitted to practice in New York State and is a member of the New York State Bar Association.
A Capital Region native, Ms. Sievers resides on a small farm in Saratoga County with her husband and two sons, all of whom enjoy attending volleyball games and club tournaments, solving escape rooms, and spending time with their extended family.
