Wendel Companies Opens New Location, Showcasing Continued Growth and Innovation

The Capital Region Chamber proudly joined Wendel Companies in celebrating the opening of their new location, marking an exciting milestone for the nationally recognized firm. Shawn Daley, the Chamber’s Senior Director of Membership Development, welcomed guests and led the ceremony, highlighting Wendel’s impressive growth since its founding in 1940 and its evolution into a leader in architecture, engineering, and construction management, driven by a strong commitment to sustainability and innovation.

Albany County Executive Dave McCoy offered congratulations on behalf of the county, recognizing Wendel’s continued impact across communities nationwide. Dan Casale, District Director for Senator Jake Ashby, presented a certificate in honor of the occasion. 

Joel Weingarten and Alvin Gamble, Town of Colonie Councilmembers, welcomed Wendel to its new home, emphasizing the importance of the new office as a foothold for continued growth in New York State and expressing the Town’s enthusiasm for future collaboration. 

Joseph DeFazio, CEO of Wendel, closed the celebration with heartfelt remarks, thanking the community and recognizing team members who helped bring the new space to life. He reflected on Wendel’s 26-year journey in the Capital District, from its early days in modest office spaces to its current state-of-the-art facility. DeFazio noted the company’s growth following the acquisition of Mitchell and Associates and reaffirmed Wendel’s commitment to being strong corporate citizens for decades to come. 

The support and enthusiasm of the Wendel team present highlighted the firm’s “One Wendel” philosophy, uniting its 16 offices across the country under a shared vision of excellence and collaboration.
