Wellness-Fitness Conference at Saint Rose

Breast cancer awareness, weight management, volunteering, identity theft, sexuality and health, and the great outdoors are among the topics on the agenda of a daylong wellness conference at The College of Saint Rose.

The Wellness-Fitness Conference will be held Wednesday, November 4, from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. in The College of Saint Rose Events and Athletics Center, 420 Western Ave., Albany, New York.  Admission is free and open to the public.

The conference will feature professionals from the Capital Region speaking on a variety of health, fitness and wellness topics.  Schedule for the day is:

  • 8 a.m. – Going Outdoors – Ray Perry, Five Rivers Environmental Education Center
  • 9 a.m. – Sexuality and Health – Kathy Rosecrans, Alpha Pregnancy Center
  • 10 a.m. – Healing Prayer – Stephen Halgren, Cru
  • 11 a.m. – Smart Money – Leo Quinn, Leo J. Quinn Jr. Enterprises
  • 12 noon – Healthy Relationships – Alan Martell, Counseling Center, The College of Saint Rose
  • 1 p.m. – Stress Management – Kaitlin McGregor, The College of Saint Rose
  • 2 p.m. – Spiritual Wellness – Joan Horgan, Office of Spiritual Life, The College of Saint Rose
  • 3 p.m. – Fire Safety – Albany Fire Department
  • 4 p.m. – Volunteering – Ken Scott, Office of Community Service, The College of Saint Rose
  • 5 p.m. – Consumer Fraud and Identity Theft – Maurice Padula, Office of the New York State Attorney General
  • 6 p.m. – Breast Cancer Awareness– Margaret Purcell, school health educator
  • 7 p.m. – Nutrition – Janna Neitzel, Cornell Cooperative Extension
