Warren, Washington & Albany Counties Arc Hosts Albany County Drive-Thru Residential Parade

The Warren, Washington & Albany Counties Chapter ARC (WWAARC) is hosting their first ever Drive Thru Residential Parade in Albany County.

WWAARC is a nonprofit organization that supports nearly 1,000 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout the three counties – Warren, Washington and Albany. During the COVID-19 pandemic all of the WWAARC day service programs have been temporarily closed. The people who attend these programs have, like many of us, been spending the vast majority of their time inside their homes.

This parade of employees will take place on Friday, May 15th at 10:30 am beginning at our house in Ravena and will travel to all of our residences in Albany County and ending at our Latham residence. There will also be drive-thru parades to follow on Tuesday, May 19th at our Warren County residences and Wednesday, May 20th at our Washington County residences, both to begin at our Quaker Road, Queensbury facility at 10:30 am.

“We are looking forward to decorating our vehicles and being able to travel to all of our residences to bring some joy and excitement to the people we support and our staff. During this unique and challenging time we want everyone within the WWAARC family to know that we are here for them and we appreciate everything they are doing” said Dan Murray, Executive Director.

Those traveling the drive-thru parade routes will notice the “Heroes Work Here” signs that were designed to let our staff know how much we appreciate them. We also would like to thank the surrounding communities who continue to acknowledge the daily self-less dedication of our front-line staff.
