Vito A. Sindoni & Son Packing Co. Celebrates a Grand Opening

Sindoni two ribbon cuttingVito A. Sindoni & Son Packing Co. held a ribbon cutting to celebrate the grand opening of their new location at 68 Settles Hill Rd. in Altamont, New York. On hand to help Mike Sr., Mike Jr., and John Sindoni cut the ribbon were family, friends, employees, and local officials.

Started by Salvatore Sindoni in the 1920’s, the original location included a small grocery and butcher shop at 814 Genesee Street in Schenectady. In the 1960’s Vito started making his version of Italian sausage while also working at General Electric. In 1965 he started Vito A. Sindoni & Son Packing Co. and the business took off.

“When it comes to our product, we refuse to cut any corners. We use 100% pork, no fat, no trimmings, no preservatives. We use the best spice and natural casings. That is how we make it”, stated Michael J. Sindoni Jr. “We have a huge loyal customer base and they mean everything to us. Without our customers we have nothing” he added.

Sindoni sausage is available locally at many fine restaurants, and local food markets including Cappiello Dairy, Ferraris Restaurant, Pereccas Bakery, Canalis Restaurant, the Niskayuna Co-Op, and Avon Market. It is also available at Price Chopper, Hannaford, and Shop Rite and many local pizzerias.
