Veterans & Community Housing Coalition Receives $40,000 Grant from Daughters of the American Revolution to Support Women Veterans

The Veterans & Community Housing Coalition (VCHC) is proud to announce that it has been awarded a $40,000 grant from the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Vivian’s Outreach to Women Grant. This five-year grant was created to support Women Veteran Programs across the United States, and VCHC is honored to be among its recipients.

The funding will be used for the final touches on Foreverly House, a transitional home designed to provide Women Veterans with a safe and stable environment where they can rebuild their lives while keeping their children with them. The home is set to open this spring, offering a vital resource for women who have served our country.

To celebrate this milestone, VCHC Executive Director Diane Nazzaro and Executive Board Liaison Cheryl Hage-Perez recently met with Saratoga Chapter Regent, Heather Mabee, who presented the grant on behalf of DAR.

“We are incredibly grateful to the Daughters of the American Revolution for their support,” said Diane Nazzaro, Executive Director of VCHC. “Foreverly House will provide life-changing opportunities for Women Veterans and their children, and this grant will help us complete the final pieces needed to make it a home.”

As VCHC prepares for the official grand opening of Foreverly House this spring, community members and organizations interested in a tour of the home before it opens are encouraged to reach out. For more information or to schedule a visit, please contact Marian Eck at MEck@VCHCNY.org.
