Veteran Cultural Competence Training

The VA VISN 2 MIRECC, Starbucks Coffee, and the Syracuse University Institute of Veterans and Families are enabling a day of evidence-based veteran cultural competence training. Training consists of many different interactive events, military simulations, lectures, and a powerful theater production that illustrates the challenges of veterans and the community’s responsibility for their re-integration. All of these exercises will prepare you to work more effectively with veterans and their families. Attendees will learn how to deliver quality, culturally competent care and education to veterans and their families. They will also understand how to acquire the best strategies for optimizing the performance and growth of veterans.

The event is taking place on Wednesday, October 16 from 11 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. at Albany Stratton VA Medical Center | 113 Holland Avenue in Albany.

Who should come? Anyone who currently provides services to or employs veterans or their families, like: Medical professionals, mental health professionals, business leaders, HR executives, University faculty and staff and Administrators.
