Upcoming Programs at the New York State Museum

Beautiful Bugs, Incredible Invertebrates and Fascinating Freaks of Nature A Mad Science Museum

Starting July 21 from 10 to 11 a.m. and 2 to 3 p.m. the NYS Museum will hold this wonderful and free program for families with children 10 and older.

Of the amazing diversity of life, 98% of the animals on earth are little known by the average person. Join Museum educator Hatti Langsford for an opportunity to closely examine some of New York’s more unusual creatures. Mad Science Museum programs include games, experiments and discovery-learning stations for fun, science-based activities related to NYSM collections, research and exhibits.

Rain or Shine…. It’s Reading Time

On Wednesday, July 29 from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m., the NYS Museum invites preschoolers and their families to a free event in Kids’ Cove! Come read a story with Miss Ann and visit a special exhibition to learn more about New York State!

 

Shaker Barnstorming Weekends

Visit the three Shaker Historic Sites in the Capital Region and Berkshires to learn about iconic Shaker barn architecture and Shaker agricultural innovations. Each tour takes place at 2pm at the location and date indicated. Reservations must be made at each separate site and prices vary based on location.
