UHY LLP (“UHY”) announced that Michael Poveda has joined the firm as an Assurance and Advisory Partner. Based in the firm’s Capital Region, Albany, NY office, Poveda advises clients on emerging issues and trends impacting businesses, including complex financial reporting matters, structured transactions, risk management and performance improvement.
Poveda has over 24 years of experience providing assurance, accounting and advisory services to national and international clients in various industries. During his career, he has served clients ranging in size from successful start-ups to the dynamic middle-market and multinational Fortune 500 companies.

Poveda also served as a partner at a Big Four firm in Metro-NYC before relocating back to Upstate New York. Throughout his career, he served as the lead client service partner and audit partner on public and privately-held organizations. In this role, he advised clients on structured transactions, including strategic investments, business acquisitions and financing arrangements. He has extensive experience assisting clients with financial reporting matters, complex accounting standards and internal controls.
Poveda is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). He received a B.S. degree from the State University of New York at Albany.
