TownePlace Suites by Marriott Latham–Albany Airport Celebrates Full Property Renovation

TownePlace Suites by Marriott Latham–Albany Airport recently completed a full property renovation, enhancing guest accommodations and amenities while reinforcing its commitment to providing a modern, comfortable experience for business and leisure travelers alike. The investment reflects continued growth in Colonie’s hospitality sector and the hotel’s dedication to serving visitors to the Capital Region.

The Capital Region Chamber joined TownePlace Suites by Marriott Latham–Albany Airport to celebrate the renovation and recognize the property’s ongoing contribution to the local economy and tourism industry. Jason Benitez, Vice President of Inclusion, officiated the ceremony and welcomed guests to the celebration.

Senator Jake Ashby praised the project as a reflection of teamwork and regional momentum, presenting a certificate of recognition. Jill Delaney, President and CEO of Discover Albany, emphasized the importance of ownership reinvestment and strong local leadership, noting how properties like this support tourism, business travel, and relocating families. Albany County Legislator Susan Quine-Laurilliard also expressed appreciation for the hotel’s commitment to the community.

Buffalo Lodging’s Regional Director of Operations, Maura Peeler, highlighted the collaborative effort behind the renovation and thanked key partners, including the Chamber, Discover Albany, the New York State Hospitality and Tourism Association, the Colonie Police Department, and general contractor Salsbury Moore.

A centerpiece of the celebration was the recognition of the hotel’s dedicated team. Peeler acknowledged task force General Manager Pamela Keeven, General Manager Angelo Cisario, Assistant General Manager Cecil Savage, and Director of Sales Rosanna for their leadership, along with Chief Engineer Jesse Alberio and Executive Housekeeper Mahmoud Mustafa for their critical role in preparing the hotel for guests following the renovation.

Support from Mark McCumber and the Town of Colonie Board further underscored the community-wide impact of this investment and the role hospitality plays in the region’s continued growth.
