July 24, 2025Town of Malta Mid-Block Crossing Ribbon Cutting
The Town of Malta has completed the construction of a new mid-block crossing, dedicated in June, to facilitate easier crossings of Route 9 from Town Hall and the adjacent Town Complex. Malta is growing, and Route 9 is getting busier, creating challenges for getting across this broad expanse of pavement on foot. This infrastructure improvement has made it much easier, safer, and more convenient to access local shops, housing, and government offices. More than just pavement and paint, the crossing is a step towards a safer, more connected and walkable “downtown” area, by alerting motorists that people are trying to cross. Senator Jim Tedisco joined Capital Region Chamber staff and volunteer Ambassadors in the ceremony, alongside town employees and the Supervisor.
