The Colonie Senior Service Center has relocated its Tool Box Program Store. The new location is 143 Troy-Schenectady Road in Watervliet. The Chamber was proud to emcee the grand opening and ribbon cutting on Wednesday, September 19th.
The Tool Box is a donation based, volunteer handyman run resale shop selling used tools and hardware to benefit seniors. The Tool Box gives people looking to downsize an opportunity to donate tools to a good cause. The Tool Box sells these tools for a fraction of the going market rate, which provides a great opportunity for new homeowners and other individuals looking for reliable, inexpensive tools. This is also an opportunity for those looking to volunteer and have an interest in tools.
Funds raised by the Tool Box help seniors pay for repairs to maintain their home through the Umbrella of Colonie home maintenance program.
