Tommy John, Former Yankee Pitcher, to be Greeted by Langan School Students & Adult Program Participants, News Conference to Follow

–Thursday, June 4, 2015 @ 10 a.m.–

Event: Four time All Star Tommy John, who was a pitcher for the New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers and other teams during his 26 year career, will be welcomed to the area by Langan School students, adult program participants and employees of the Center for Disability Services. There will be a  news conference right after the greeting.

Date: Thursday, June 4, 2015

Time: 10 a.m. welcome and greeting; news conference will follow

***Please note: Videographers/photographers are welcome to cover Mr. John mingling with guests at An Aficionado Experience that evening–however, it will not  be possible for reporters to conduct lengthy interviews with him during the event

Place: Center for Disability Services, 314 South Manning Boulevard, Albany

Additional Information: Coverage of the big welcome is encouraged and Tommy John will then be available to answer questions at a news conference and discuss his visit to Albany on behalf of the Center for Disability Services. John will be a special guest at An Aficionado Experience, an evening of fine food and mingling, presented by Northwestern Mutual on the evening of June 4. The event begins at 5 p.m. with a VIP reception at the Pruyn House in Loudonville and continues from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Proceeds benefit the Center’s Foundation. Sports guests who have attended this fundraiser in the past include Dwight “Doc” Gooden (2014), Sparky Lyle (2013), Lou Piniella (2012), Rick Cerone (2011), Roy White and Mickey Rivers (2010), Bucky Dent (2009) and Goose Gossage (HOF–2008).
