Tom Durkin to be Honored at Siro’s Cup Benefit for the Center for Disability Services

The 22nd annual Newton Plaza Siro’s Cup to benefit the Center for Disability Services will be held on Thursday, July 23. The fundraising party, held on the eve of opening day at the Saratoga Race Course, begins at 6:30 p.m. at Siro’s Restaurant, 168 Lincoln Avenue, Saratoga Springs. At 7 p.m., there will be a presentation to Tom Durkin, retired track announcer, to acknowledge his love of thoroughbreds and his contribution to the horse racing industry. Guests will also celebrate American Pharoah, winner of the Triple Crown.

The event will welcome many top jockeys and trainers. Guests will dance to music from The Electric City Horns until 11 p.m. under an open air tent. The evening includes fine cuisine created especially for Siro’s Cup by the Hunt & Fish Club @ Siro’s and an open bar. Management and culinary staff from Manhattan’s acclaimed Hunt & Fish Club will operate Siro’s for the season. Siro’s Cup is held rain or shine.

The popular event is a benefit for the Center for Disability Services Foundation, Inc., in support of Adult Services, Center Health Care, Clover Patch Camp, CloverPatch Pre-school, Langan School, Prospect Center and St. Margaret’s Center. The Center is a resource for people of all ages who have disabilities or health related conditions and it provides programs and services often not found anywhere else. The Center has a 73 year history in the Capital Region and beyond, and is known as the place where people get better at life.

Honorary Chairpersons are Christine Hearst and George R. Hearst III, Josephine Feiden and Earl B. Feiden and Sara Lee Larner and Barry Larner, and Eric Larner. Co-Chairpersons of the 2015 Siro’s Cup Committee are Eric Larner and Mark Feiden.
