July 5, 2016Three Join Proctors Team
The marketing team at Proctors/Capital Repertory Theatre/Universal Preservation Hall welcomes two new key members.
Michael Funk has joined as digital marketing manager, with Maria Marotta signing on as art director.
Funk, whose background is in sales, comes to the organization from a post as digital manager at The Daily Gazette. He brings extensive media skills, having served in a number of management positions at the Times Union for 16 years. A College of Saint Rose graduate with a double major in history and political science, Funk also has plentiful broadcast experience, with sales work at both WRGB and WTEN.
Funk, who came aboard in May, says, “I want to use social media to expand our dialogue with community supporters, and to make our various platforms more interactive, so we can appreciate and serve our audience, instead of simply selling to them.”
Raised in Connecticut, Funk lives in Ballston Spa with his wife and two daughters.
He is closely involved with Double H Ranch, in Lake Luzerne, where, as a certified member of the Professional Ski Instructors Association, he works with children with physical and cognitive disabilities and life-threatening diseases.
Marotta, who began in June, is a lifelong Schenectady resident and fellow St. Rose alumna (with a B.A. in Graphic Design).
She has spent the last 15 years at Fidelis Care’s Albany office, where, as creative manager, she developed the design department, which handled advertising and internal and external communications for the Capital Region, as well as for offices in Queens, Syracuse and Buffalo.
With Proctors/theREP/UPH, Marotta hopes to “broaden the scope of the work we do, and to strengthen and deepen branding efforts, not only internally, but with outside organizations as well.”
In addition to her duties at Proctors, Marotta attends and volunteers for Grace Fellowship Church in Latham, and is a certified life coach.
The education department at Proctors has also announced the addition of Grace Janiszewski (B.A. Theatre, Fairfield University) as education program manager. Janiszewski, recently of Theatre Project Consultants in Norwalk, Conn., previously served at Proctors as intern, education assistant and Box Office customer service associate.
