Therese Myers Named Chief Communications Officer at Northern Rivers

Northern Rivers Family of Services announced that Therese Myers has been appointed as Chief Communications Officer. She began work with the organization January 23.

Myers will lead internal and external communications efforts for the $84 million not-for-profit organization, connecting 1,300 employees and improving brand awareness throughout a 37-county service area. “Therese brings us a wealth of communications, marketing, media relations, and community involvement experience and expertise,” said William T. Gettman, Jr., Northern Rivers CEO.

Myers joins Northern Rivers after 19 years with KeyBank, most recently as vice president and regional manager of Corporate Communications, directing internal and external communications and managing strategic public outreach and awareness for the bank’s seven markets throughout New York and New England. She was previously manager of Communications and Philanthropy at KB Toys in Pittsfield, Mass.; vice president and manager of Corporate Communications for Fleet Financial Group in Providence, R.I.; and manager of the Editing department at The Ayco Company in Albany.

She earned her BA in English and art history from Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, Virginia, and her MPA from the University at Albany.

She serves on the board of the Arts Center of the Capital Region and is chair of the Marketing Committee. She is a former reading tutor for Literacy Volunteers of America, and is a member of the Capital Region Chamber’s Capital Leadership class of 2004.
