The Youth Conservatory is BACK!!!

Home Made Theater’s acclaimed Youth Conservatory returns this Spring with Chicago: Teen Edition at the Saratoga Springs City Music Hall! Rehearsals will be held at our Wilton Mall location.

Kander & Ebb’s legendary and award-winning musical has been adapted and specifically designed to be content-appropriate and has removed inappropriate references and adult language. Because of the nature of this production, this year’s production will be open to students from ages 12 to 18.

In roaring twenties Chicago, chorus girl Roxie Hart murders a faithless lover and convinces her hapless husband, Amos, to take the rap… until he finds out he’s been duped and turns on Roxie. Convicted and sent to death row, Roxie and another “Merry Murderess,” Velma Kelly, vie for the spotlight and the headlines, ultimately joining forces in search of the “American Dream”: fame, fortune, and acquittal.

Rehearsals, starting with auditions, will begin on Saturday, March 19, 2022. Rehearsals will be held on Wednesdays and Fridays from 4:00pm to 6:30pm and Saturdays from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Dress rehearsals and performances will be held the week of May 9 to May 14, call times TBD. There will be three performances, one on Friday, May 13 and two on Saturday May 14 at the Saratoga Springs City Music Hall. A complete schedule will be provided to registrants and is available on request.

The cost of this year’s Conservatory is $425/student. There are scholarships available; applications are available on request.

Deadline to register: Wednesday, March 16
