May 24, 2018The People’s Choice Pie Contest at Summerfest!
On Monday, June 25, starting at 4 p.m., join Colonie Senior Service Centers at the Beltrone Living Center, 6 Winners Circle, Colonie, as we officially welcome in summer! “Summerfest” is a Senior Community Block Party open to the public. There will be live jazz/swing entertainment to dance to as well as a Town of Colonie Band performance. A “duck derby” will take place allowing individuals to choose a rubber duck to race. There will be a wine tasting with Saratoga Winery along with a summer hat contest. Hamburgers, hotdogs and ice cream will be available for purchase.
This year we are also including The People’s Choice Pie Contest. Do you have a Great-Grandmother’s huckleberry pie recipe? A secret recipe for blueberry pie? Everyone’s favorite chocolate cream pie? Whatever your pie recipe is, it’s time to show it off and win something too! The People’s Choice Pie Contest is a delicious chance for the community to show off their talent and baking skill. Include the type of pie you will enter, your name and contact number. Prizes will be awarded in three categories: Prettiest Pie, Most Mouthwatering, and Deliciously Different.
