The Bonadio Group’s Albany Office Raises $3500 for Habitat for Humanity Capital District as Part of 2019 Upstate New York Construction Summit

The Bonadio Group’s Albany office raised $3500 for Habitat for Humanity Capital District, continuing a tradition of giving back at the firm’s annual construction summit gathering held on February 5 at Albany Marriott. More than 100 area executives attended the summit in Albany to learn more about upcoming market trends and industry happenings as part of this series of events designed to educate and inform regional construction firms.

“Our team’s generosity and commitment to helping others through this donation to Habitat for Humanity is a reminder of the impact we can have on the communities where we live and work,” said Thomas Bonadio, CEO of The Bonadio Group. “This is truly a ‘win-win.’ We’re giving back to an organization supporting affordable, quality housing in conjunction with our construction summits, which offer valuable industry insight on issues affecting firms of every size in both the private and public sector.”

This year’s construction summit included a keynote address from nationally-recognized construction business expert and certified professional construction business coach George Hedley, CSP, CPBC. Hedley shared his insight on the topic of effective leadership in building, leading, managing and coaching a winning construction business. Breakout sessions were offered from The Bonadio Group team on revenue recognition, cybersecurity and income tax updates. Sponsor NBT Bank shared their insight on personal fiduciary exposure for retirement plan sponsors, and Whiteman Osterman & Hanna LLP presented on tax benefits around qualified opportunity zones. Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. also sponsored this year’s Albany summit.

“For 15 years, The Bonadio Group’s Upstate New York Construction Summit has welcomed owners, managers and field leaders on the front lines of change in Albany,” said Michael Smith, Partner and Team Leader of The Bonadio Group’s Construction Division. “The construction industry is always looking for ways to optimize resources and navigate challenges. I am delighted that our team is at the forefront of this knowledge-sharing, applying our expertise to drive growth in the Capital Region.”

In addition to the construction summits, The Bonadio Group’s construction division produces the Upstate New York Contractors State of the Industry Survey and the Upstate New York Contractors Compensation and Benefits Study. These surveys offer a comprehensive review of patterns and trends in the industry, indicating the health of the regional construction sector, salary and non-wage information to help better inform the construction industry.
