The Capital Region Chamber was thrilled to host a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of Member The Boardroom & Lounge’s, Upstate New York’s first indoor cornhole facility. Owners Karie and Michael Countermine have transformed their vision into a one-of-a-kind destination where community members can gather for competition, recreation, and connection.
Cornhole, a favorite pastime at backyard barbecues and friendly get-togethers, has surged in popularity across the region. Recognizing the demand, Karie and Michael set out to create a dedicated venue that elevates the experience for both casual players and serious competitors.
Joining the Chamber staff, Ambassadors, and the Countermines for the ribbon cutting were Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara and County Legislator Josh Cuomo, who helped commemorate this exciting milestone for the Rotterdam community.
Located at 1002 Wedgewood Heights, Rotterdam, The Boardroom & Lounge features professional-grade boards, a private lounge, a snack bar, a pool table, and rotating food vendors. The facility also offers leagues, tournaments, and open play, making it the perfect spot for anyone looking to toss a few bags, relax with friends, or test their skills in a competitive setting.
The official ribbon cutting marks the beginning of a new chapter for cornhole enthusiasts in the Capital Region. With their passion for the game and commitment to creating a welcoming environment, Karie and Michael have quickly made The Boardroom & Lounge a hotspot for fun, recreation, and social connection.
