The Arts Center of the Capital Region Announces $265,897 in Grant Awards to Artists, Arts Initiatives and Arts Organizations

The Arts Center of the Capital Region is pleased to announce the distribution of $510,000 in grants through the New York State Council on the Arts Statewide Community Regrants Program. The grants, ranging from $500 to $5,000, will be distributed in two funding cycles to support art programs occurring between June 1st, 2023, and December 31st, 2023, in Albany, Rensselaer, and Schenectady Counties.

“We are dedicated to cultivating a thriving artistic community in our region, and we are delighted to provide support to artists from all backgrounds and disciplines. Our aim is to fund projects that have a lasting impact, contributing to the vibrancy and vitality of our community,” says Joseph Mastroianni, the Vice President of Programs and SCR Grant Coordinator at the Arts Center.

In total, 76 projects received funding in the first round, with the potential to reach an audience of 50,000. These projects showcase a diverse range of artistic expression and will undoubtedly enrich the cultural landscape of the Capital Region.

Assemblymember John T. McDonald III, RPh said “As a New York State Assemblymember, I’m committed to securing resources that benefit our community, and the New York State Statewide Community Regrants program is a valuable tool in achieving that goal. By supporting grassroots initiatives, this program makes a real difference in the lives of residents throughout our region, and I’m proud to be part of this effort.”

The Arts Center of the Capital Region is proud to continue its commitment to support and celebrate the arts in our community. We look forward to seeing the incredible work that our grantees will produce and the positive impact they will have on our region.

Congratulations to Round 1 grantees!
