The Chamber is proud to be part of a coalition of civil rights, education, parent, and business organizations that have proposed a “5×25” agenda, calling on state leaders to fulfill 5 Commitments to every student entering sixth grade in Fall 2018. Last week, the New York Equity Coalition released a report entitled Within Our Reach, which shows New York’s education system denies students of color and low-income students access to courses that prepare them for college, careers, and active citizenship. This report recommends how we can improve the outcomes for all students.
We would encourage anyone that is interested in ensuring all students have access to high-quality, advanced coursework to review this report.
