Swimming and Diving Welcomes Six New Faces

Siena women’s swimming and diving head coach Paul Kueterman welcomes six incoming freshman to his roster this fall. Theresa Cotter, Maggie Davenport, Elizabeth Fournier, Emma Rupert, Julianna Sebastian and Francesca Tinucci are all set to join the program.

“This incoming class is made up of individual’s with tremendous swimming experience,” Kueterman said. “They work hard in the pool and will have immediate impacts in all of our competitions. They’re all quality students too, who will be tremendous additions to the Siena community.”

Cotter (Clarksville, Md.) is expected to compete in the back and IM events for the Saints. She was a member of the Howard County Community record-setting medley relay team and qualified for 2015 Speedo Sectionals in multiple events.

Davenport (Kingston, N.Y.) set a team record in the 50-free and compete in the 2014 YMCA national meet for the renowned Kingston YMCA Hurricanes.

Fournier (West Haven, Conn.) specializes in the fly and free events. She was named MVP, Most Versatile Swimmer, and team captain at West Haven High School.

Rupert (Clifton Park, N.Y.) was a five-time state qualifier and Section II champion in the 2012 and 2013 200-free, and 2013 100-breast at nearby Shenedehowa. She advanced to the YMCA Nationals four straight seasons from 2010-14 in the free, IM and breast.

Sebastian (Getzville, N.Y.) was a five-year state qualifier in six different events. She won the ECIC title in the 100-fly in 2012, and is the school record holder in the 500-free at Williamsville North High School. Sebastian was an accomplished club swimmer with Sweet Home Aquatics, helping the squad to four district championships in the 200 fly and emerging as a junior national qualifier in the 100 and 200 fly.

Tinucci (Afton, Minn.) led Murray High School to a Section 4 team championship in November when she won the 100 and 200 free and was a member of the 200 and 400 free relays. She was a multiple state qualifier scholastically and is expected to swim in several different freestyle events for the Saints.
