SUNY Board of Trustees to Name New UAlbany President

The Board of Trustees of The State University of New York plans to appoint a new permanent president for the University at Albany at its open meeting on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at 353 Broadway, Albany.

The new president, the University’s 20th, will succeed Robert J. Jones, who left last September to become Chancellor of the University of Illinois – Champaign-Urbana. James R. Stellar has been serving as interim president.

Members of the news media are invited to attend and cover the board meeting, which is expected to last until 3 or 3:30 p.m. The newly named president will make remarks during the meeting, and will be available to speak with media directly afterwards.

The appointment will take place on Wednesday, June 21 at 1:30 p.m. at The State University Plaza (Large Courtroom), located at 353 Broadway Albany, NY 12246.
