September 1, 2026SUNY ADK to Host ‘Inspiring the Next Generation’ for Health Care
SUNY Adirondack is proud to host a Nursing Health Education Symposium: Inspiring the Next Generation from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23.
High school students and their parents/guardians are invited to this panel discussion featuring a certified nursing assistant, a licensed practical nurse, a registered nurse, a nurse care manager, a psychiatric nurse practitioner and more.
“This is a great way for students to learn more about jobs that are in high demand throughout our region,” said Kimberly Comisky, director of Healthcare Pathways at SUNY Adirondack. “Health care offers many rewarding career paths for different interests, strengths and educational goals. We want students to leave this event with a better understanding of their options, a clearer picture of what it takes to enter these professions and the confidence to begin planning their own path in health care.”
Health care professionals will discuss educational pathways and training required for each career; a day in the life of each profession; and advice on how to prepare during high school for a health care career.
Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions and tour SUNY Adirondack’s Nursing Simulation Suite.
SUNY Adirondack Healthcare Pathways offers this event in collaboration with Adirondack Rural Health Network, Hudson Mohawk AHEC, AHI, NYS Association for Rural Health and Mother Cabrini Health Foundation.
