Sunmark Federal Credit Announces New Elections to Board of Directors

DAWN DOHERTY ELECTED AS SUNMARK’S FIRST FEMALE CHAIRPERSON

Recently, at the Sunmark Federal Credit Union (Sunmark) annual meeting, Sunmark members elected Dawn Doherty as the first female Chairperson on Sunmark’s Board of Directors.  As a member-owned financial cooperative, Sunmark Federal Credit Union relies on the talents of volunteers from our membership to serve on our Board of Directors.

Dawn is a CPA and Enrolled Agent with over 25 years of tax and accounting experience. She recently joined Grant Thornton LLP as a Tax Director in the firm’s Albany office. Formerly a Tax Partner with a regional CPA firm, Dawn’s previous experience also includes a senior management role with a publicly-traded multinational corporation, manager in a big four firm, and nearly 20 years with the IRS, most recently as a senior-level Internal Revenue Agent. Dawn has a background of tax compliance, consultation, tax controversy services, in addition to corporate accounting for income tax for varied entity types.

Dawn serves as an Adjunct Instructor at the University at Albany where she holds a Master’s degree in Taxation. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the College of St. Rose.
