May 5, 2020Sunmark Credit Union Provides COVID-19 Relief and Assistance to Fifteen Local Organizations
Since March, in collaboration with Sunmark Credit Union, the Sunmark Charitable Community Foundation has made funds immediately available to organizations on the front line, working to provide relief and assistance for those impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Sunmark cares deeply for people and for the communities in which they serve, and feel they have an essential role to play during the COVID-19 crisis. Most recently, Sunmark’s efforts included assisting the following:
Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region– The Sunmark Charitable Community Foundation and Sunmark are covering all costs incurred by RMHC®-CR to accommodate families whose children are being treated at Albany Medical Center. This includes providing local hotel accommodations for families to stay together near the hospital. Sunmark is also supporting the RMHC®-CR Hospitality Cart at the hospital, helping to make coffee, snacks, comfort items, and other resources available to children, families, and health care workers in the hospital.
Boys and Girls Club of the Capital Area- The Sunmark Charitable Community Foundation and Sunmark are providing funds to assist the BGCCA and provide breakfast and lunch to families throughout the Capital District. The mobile meal service program currently provides breakfast and lunch to 11 housing sites, serving over 2,000 meals per day.
Street Soldiers– Sunmark is assisting this grassroots organization providing relief to homeless and struggling individuals and families in Albany, Schenectady, and Troy.
Since the very beginning of this crisis, Sunmark and the Sunmark Charitable Community Foundation has led a substantial local relief effort to also assist the following organizations:
