July 23, 2025Sunmark Credit Union Hosts Girls Inc. for “Ignite!” Program
The Sunmark Charitable Community Foundation teamed up with Girls Inc. on Monday, July 21, to host Ignite!, a program to help guide and mentor young girls in their personal and academic growth.
Held at the Sunmark Latham Financial Center, Ignite! welcomed a group of 6th and 7th grade girls from Girls Inc. to explore the many career paths available within a financial institution. The events included a panel comprised of inspiring Sunmark women that shared their journeys during their career, as well as advice for the young girls. Girls Inc. participants were also given the opportunity to speed network with a variety of people that work within the credit union before concluding their day with CEO Jerilee Beaudoin. A full tour of the Latham Financial Center and its’ back-office departments was provided for the girls to see the behind the scenes of the institution.
“This event wasn’t just about career exposure — it was about planting the seeds of confidence” said Audrey Stone, Foundation Vice President and Community Engagement Program Manager at Sunmark Credit Union. “By connecting them with real professionals and giving them a glimpse behind the scenes, we’re helping to spark curiosity, and a sense of possibility.”
This event marked another step in Sunmark’s commitment to building stronger, more inclusive communities through financial education and outreach. The Summer of Kindness will continue with more projects in the coming weeks, bringing programs like Ignite! to life for youth and families across the Capital Region.
