Stuyvesant Plaza to Celebrate the Holidays with Free Carriage Rides, Live Music and Santa Claus

Stuyvesant Plaza today announced plans to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year with a weekly Holiday Stroll each Sunday beginning Nov. 20 through Dec. 18. The Sunday Holiday Strolls will take place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

In conjunction with the inaugural Holiday Stroll on Nov. 20, a special tree lighting ceremony will be held outside of Jean Paul Spa and Salon. The celebration begins at 5 p.m. with performances from the Albany Gay Men’s Chorus and solo artist Lennox. The event will be hosted by Taylor Rao (The Buttonista) of Two Buttons Deep.

Each week, guests can also enjoy complimentary horse-drawn carriage rides by Bowman Carriages, live music by Lennox and photos with Santa Claus.

At the opening Stroll on Nov. 20, shoppers can indulge in free hot chocolate from Bountiful Bread’s hot cocoa cart, while supplies last. During all ensuing Sundays, shoppers will be able to purchase hot chocolate from Bountiful Bread’s mobile cart with partial proceeds benefitting a local nonprofit organization.

“We’re very excited to welcome guests for our Holiday Stroll. This is such a special time of year, and we can’t wait to celebrate with our valued shoppers,” said Stuyvesant Plaza General Manager Rachel Ferluge. “To make sure all of our guests are on Santa’s Nice List, 10% of the proceeds from Bountiful Bread’s hot cocoa cart will be donated to the Guilderland YMCA.”

Stuyvesant Plaza is conveniently located at the corner of Western Avenue and Fuller Road in Albany. Hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Beginning Friday, Nov. 25 through Friday, Dec. 23 the Plaza will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
