Strikes & Spares for the Center for Disability Services

Bowlers of all ages are invited to roll into fall at the NYSCOPBA Bowl-A-Thon, presented by Southwest Airlines, on Sunday, September 17. There will be family friendly fun from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Spare Time, 375 Troy Schenectady Road, Latham.  All proceeds benefit the Center for Disability Services Foundation, Inc., in support of the Center’s Creative MOVEment dance and music therapy programs. The Bowl-A-Thon honors the memory of Brian Viele, who was part of the Center for more than 40 years, first as a toddler, then as a Langan School graduate and finally as a participant in the Center’s adult programs. The Viele family wishes to remember Brian Viele by giving individuals with disabilities an opportunity to participate in creative dance and movement and enjoy the positive benefits of music therapy.

In addition to bowling, a FLY 92.3 DJ will provide music and there will be food and drink, face painting and a silent auction.

Registration is $15 per person or $45 for a team of four. Players may raise the money through donations from friends and family, or they may pay to play. Donations are welcome and may be made through PayPal. Sponsorships are also available at various levels.
