St. Christopher Fitness Ribbon Cutting

Congratulations to St. Christopher Fitness on their new location at 800 Route 146 Ste 320 in Clifton Park! Owners Jomilson and Theresa Alvarez are making a more inclusive wellness experience for those who can benefit from their specialized approach to fitness. This one-of-a-kind gym is thoughtfully designed to support individuals with cognitive, physical, and developmental challenges, from Down syndrome and autism to multiple sclerosis. Their mission is clear: to think differently and create a space where everyone belongs. When we cut the first ribbon with them in 2021, few of us fully understood the topic of neurodiversity and how an inclusive community means making accommodations for those among us who are at their best when sensory stimuli are managed.

Efforts spearheaded by Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh have encouraged us all to ThinkDIFFERENTLY in our community, and have succeeded in setting aside a special section at the just-concluded Burnt Hills Flag Day Parade last week for reduced flashing lights and horns, etc, and similarly Think Differently Day at The Saratoga County Fair, a sensory-friendly day, will take place this year on July 24, from 9 a.m. – Noon, with early access, no crowds, and no lights or loud music.

Thank you to Amy and Alex from Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh’s office, and Senator Jim Tedisco and his associate Alex Blizinski for supporting the event. Also thank you to Henry Bellagnome and his faithful handler “Sam” Meislin, along with the chamber volunteer Ambassador crew and several other local businesses who came in to help make this a very special celebration.

All 2025 ribbon cuttings of the Capital Region Chamber and its affiliates are sponsored by Community Bank, N.A.
