Souper Bowl Sunday – February 3, 2019

Our upcoming fundraiser, Souper Bowl Sunday is February 3, 2019. Support your favorite football team on Souper Bowl Sunday. Your donation supports the SiCM Emergency Food Pantry!

Would you like to display one or two canisters in your church or business so your members or patrons can contribute throughout the weeks leading up to the game? A SiCM staff member can drop the canisters off to you. 100% of the monies raised go toward the purchase of food to stock our shelves.

Let us know if you’d like to participate in this event this year!

Create your Own Souper Bowl Activities — List of Ideas!

Make it a Competition
Put out 2 canisters and mark each can with a football team’s name. Ask participants to put a donation in the “winning team canister!”

Cost of a Super Bowl Party
Consider the costs to host a super bowl party. Ask for a donation based on the total cost of a party, or break it down by per person (i.e., if a super bowl party costs $400 for 20 people, that breaks down to $20/person.) Individual donations could range from $20 to $400.

Football Bake Sale
Host a “football bake sale” of snacks served at a Super Bowl Party and ask for cash donations.

Hot Soup
During a social hour, serve soup on Souper Bowl Sunday and ask for cash donations.

Can of Soup and Support
Ask people to bring a can of soup and make a cash donation. Cans of soups can be donated to SiCM’s Pantry as well.

Teen Football Routes
Decorate football table(s) and encourage teens to dress in football jerseys. The teens promote it and can run a football toss route to build excitement and collect funds!

Education of Social Issues
Leading up to Super Bowl, educate your congregation of social issues often connected to football: gambling, domestic violence, and drug/alcoholism. Provide education on hunger and food insecurity to encourage support of SiCM’s Pantry.
