January 2, 2019Sorrentino Appointed New President & CEO of the Center for Disability Services, Succeeds Alan Krafchin
Effective January 2, 2019, Gregory J. Sorrentino will be the new President & CEO of the Center For Disability Services. Sorrentino has been an executive at the Center for 25 years, serving most recently as its President and Chief Financial Officer, and prior to that, as Chief Operating Officer. He is licensed as a New York State Certified Public Accountant and is a New York State Licensed Nursing Home Administrator. He succeeds Alan Krafchin, who is retiring after 43 years of distinguished service in the field of human services and nearly two decades as President & CEO at the Center.
The Center is the largest integrated health care and education services organization in Upstate New York dedicated to serving individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. It provides specialized health care, skilled pediatric and young adult nursing care, residential, respite and education services for 12,000 individuals with disabilities and support for families. The Center provides services at 80 locations in 15 counties and has 2,400 employees.

Greg Sorrentino is the perfect ‘next CEO’ for the Center, as he deeply understands the needs of the people we support and the families we serve,” said Jeff Killeen, Chairperson of the Center’s Governing Board, adding, “Greg is the ideal CEO to now lead the Center as it continues to innovate on care delivery for individuals with disabilities and create the strategic alliances which will be necessary for success in this emerging health care environment.”

Sorrentino was an adjunct faculty member in Financial Accounting at Sage Colleges Graduate Division and was a member of the Sage Colleges Graduate School Advisory Board. Currently, Sorrentino is a member of the Health Program Task Force at Siena College. He has served the community on the Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons Board, St. Margaret’s Center Board, St. Peter’s Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Our Lady of Mercy Life Center and Albany Medical Center’s Better Health for Northeast New York Finance Committee.
Sorrentino lives in Guilderland with his wife, Sherry. They have three children, Gina, Sarah and Vincent.
