August 17, 2016Sonic of Capital Region Announces District Manager
Sonic Drive-In of the Capital Region announced the recent hire of Joe Di Carlo as the organization’s Regional Manager. This is a new management position with the company designed to help with the company’s growth since coming to the Capital Region.
“Joe brings extensive experience and knowledge and we’re excited to have them in this important role as we get ready to launch additional Sonic Drive-Ins in the Capital Region,” said Gene Nachamkin, one of Sonic’s local franchisees. “He knows the hospitality industry and he knows customer service.”
Di Carlo will be responsible for evaluating talent, building teams, and managing the business. He most recently comes from the health care field where he managed nursing homes and before that he owned and operator his own restaurants.
“I really enjoy coming to work and watching the faces of customers as their food is brought to them by servers on roller skates,” said Di Carlo. “Sonic is truly unique and in a category all alone,” he said. “Sonic’s just ‘got it’ and others don’t.”
Sonic came to the area in 2015 and is set to expand with a second location to open in Troy later this year. Additional locations are planned for 2017 as well.
“Sonic offers a unique brand,” noted Di Carlo. “All the food is fresh-made-to-order. We never re-heat or microwave. The customer can experience us in the dining room, at the drive-thru, or in a drive-up car experience. With over a million drink combinations, there is always something new to try when you come to Sonic.”
Di Carol lives in Schenectady with his two daughters and his fiancée, Edith.
Sonic’s Troy location is set to open in mid-October.
