Smiles Abound for These “People Person” Students

Mikki Colaccino and Taylor Murphy are people persons.

The South Colonie and Shenendehowa students at Capital Region BOCES enjoy people and are both pursuing a career that will allow them to interact with people all day while pursuing their passion for hair styling.

“I like meeting new people and learning new skills – and this allows me to do both,” Colaccino said.

Murphy concurred.

“I like everything about cosmetology. I enjoy the people and making them look beautiful,” Murphy said.

Looking forward, Colaccino has a solid plan for the future – get her cosmetology license, a college degree and then open a salon. Meanwhile, Murphy aspires to work in her aunt’s Clifton Park salon, Envision.

“I want to graduate from here, go to college for a two-year business degree and then open my own business. I think it will be exciting and fun,” Colaccino said.
