Simmons Capital Group Partners with Feeding America to Help Provide Local Meals

Simmons Capital Group (SCG) today announced that the organizations’ participation in Team Feed raised over $2,000 to combat food insecurity in America – the equivalent of 20,000 meals for those in need.

Clients of SCG contributed over $1,000 through direct donations with an additional amount of $1,000 coming from company contributions. With 53 million people relying on charitable food assistance last year, Team Feed has become an important and impactful way individuals and communities across the country can help provide meals to neighbors in need and join the fight against hunger. Food banks face mounting headwinds as food donations decline and the need for food becomes greater. Every $1 raised will help provide at least 10 meals to neighbors in need.

“The Thanksgiving season is always the busiest time of the year for food pantries and food banks nationwide, and Feeding America helps where the needs are the greatest,” said COO and Partner Audra Higgins. “We are proud of how quickly our local community came together to help those in need.”

Feeding America is the largest hunger-relief organization in the United States. Through a network of more than 200 food banks, 21 statewide food bank associations and over 60,000 partner agencies, food pantries and meal programs, we helped provide 6.6 billion meals to tens of millions of people in need last year. Feeding America also supports programs that prevent food wasted and improve food security among the people we serve, brings attention to the social and systemic barriers that contribute to food insecurity in our nation; and advocates for legislation that protects people from going hungry.
