Siena Rolls Rider, Finishes Fall 3-0

Siena lost just nine sets all day in a comfortable 7-0 MAAC sweep of Rider Saturday in Watervliet. Rina Sakai, Ali Garrity and Allysa Singh each shutout their opponents in straight set 6-0, 6-0 wins.

Siena began the match by sweeping the doubles competition to claim the doubles point. Garrity and Mitsuki Fukamachi teamed up for a 6-2 win at top doubles, and Sakai paired with Singh for a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles. Sophomore Julia Dunbar joined freshman Natalie Weaver for a 6-0 sweep at No. 3 doubles.

Fukamachi and Weaver each gave up just one set in their straight set wins, and Dunbar cruised to a 6-1 and 6-2 win at No. 6 singles.

The Saints finish fall dual match play with a perfect 3-0 record. They will hold their annual Alumni Match next Saturday.
