Siena College, Catholic Central High School Sign Articulation Agreement

Selected students at Catholic Central High School in Troy can earn up to 24 Siena College credits during their senior year of high school.

The Crusader to Saint program will allow selected students to enroll at Siena as non-matriculated students, taking up to three classes in each of the fall and spring semesters of their senior year.

“This advanced academic program will challenge the brightest, most talented and highly motivated members of the Catholic Central student body,” said Christopher Signor, principal of CCHS.

Crusaders to Saints will enroll its first students this fall; approximately 10 are expected. Classes will be held on Siena’s Loudonville campus between 8:00 am and 12:50 pm, allowing students to return to CCHS for afternoon classes, internships, and extracurricular activities.

CCHS students will be participating in the same introductory level classes as matriculated Siena students, according to Ned Jones, Siena’s vice president for enrollment management. A wide selection of core curriculum classes will be offered in history, communications, mathematics, science, foreign languages, religious studies and more.

The Crusader to Saint program will allow participants to earn up to 24 transferable college credits during their senior year. These credits can be applied at Siena if a student decides to matriculate there or transferred to another college of the student’s choice.

Students will apply to the Crusader to Saint program in March of their junior year.

Applicants will be judged on academic achievement, an admissions essay, extracurricular involvement, service to the community, disciplinary record, and college readiness.

Selected participants will work with their guidance counselor and an advisor at Siena to select coursework that fulfills their educational requirements to graduate with an NYS Advanced Regents Diploma.

CCHS students who are interested in applying to the Crusaders to Saints program should contact their guidance counselor.
