SEFCU, News10ABC and iHeartMedia Albany Launch “No Neighbor Hungry” Fundraising Campaign

SEFCU, News10ABC and iHeartMedia Albany are joining forces to feed our neighbors in need through an online fundraising campaign called “No Neighbor Hungry.”

The campaign’s goal is simple – raise as much money as possible for the month of June to support seven special nonprofit organizations that are focused on feeding people right here in the Capital Region. To maximize this effort, SEFCU will match individual contributions for the first $100,000 raised.

The nonprofit organizations include South End Children’s Café, Feed Albany, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Capital Area, Boys & Girls Club of Schenectady, Saratoga County Economic Opportunity Council, Inc., Food Pantries for the Capital District and Catholic Charities.

“These organizations are working hard to help individuals, children and families struggling to make ends meet. With unemployment numbers spiking, many local businesses closed, and food pantries seeing an unprecedented increase in visitors due to the coronavirus, we have been inspired by the ways they have stepped up to ensure that our neighbors in need are fed and cared for,” said SEFCU President and CEO Michael Castellana. “The ‘No Neighbor Hungry’ campaign will help these organizations and their selfless employees and volunteers continue their effort. We are thrilled to partner with News10ABC and iHeartMedia Albany on this important initiative.”

News10ABC and iHeartMedia Albany will promote the “No Neighbor Hungry” campaign all month and will share stories about the incredible organizations this effort will support, as well as the businesses and people who are joining the effort.

“News10ABC is proud to partner with SEFCU and iHeartMedia Albany to make people aware of the critical food shortages created in the Capital Region by the current coronavirus pandemic. The need is great – people go hungry every day and are in critical need of food.  News10ABC focuses on the LOCAL communities we serve, and we are proud to support this important campaign”, said Jerry Brehm / WTEN Vice President and General Manager.

“We are thrilled to partner with SEFCU, News10ABC and several great organizations to help get food directly to those people in our communities that have the greatest need,” said Kristen Delaney, President for iHeartMedia Albany.
