June 24, 2015SEFCU hires Gaetano Spatafora as Chief Operating Officer
Albany, NY – (June 22, 2015) – SEFCU, one of the largest credit unions in upstate New York, recently hired Gaetano Spatafora as Chief Operating Officer.
In his new role, Spatafora is responsible for leading the execution and implementation of key strategies and initiatives, working with members of the executive team to make strategic recommendations about initiatives and processes.
Most recently, Spatafora worked as Global Manager of Federal Reporting and America’s Manager for Legal Entity Financial Reporting for Goldman Sachs, the multi-national investment banking firm. At Goldman Sachs, Spatafora managed individuals in both U. S. and international locations, designed and implemented global governance, policy, and training, and created the accounting, reporting, and control infrastructure for the bank subsidiary. Prior to that, Spatafora worked at Ernst and Young, the world’s third largest provider of professional services.
Spatafora earned a bachelor of science in accounting with a concentration in finance from Fordham University‘s Gabelli School of Business. He is a Certified Public Accountant with more than 18 years of experience in the financial services industry. Spatafora is the Treasurer for Saratoga American Little League Baseball and he resides in Saratoga.
