SEFCU Employees Renovate Arbor Hill Elementary Parent Room

Twenty SEFCU employees recently spent two days renovating the parent room at Arbor Hill Elementary School, painting walls and decorative trim, assembling furniture and a countertop, laying carpet tiles and mounting a bulletin board and whiteboard. The project was led by SEFCU’s Renovate That! group, created to provide employees with opportunities to use their talents and time, and SEFCU’s resources, on community renovation and repair projects.

SEFCU Arbor Hill family room renovationFor two years now, nearly 40 SEFCU employees have been visiting the school weekly to read to the children there, working collaboratively with staff and parents to enhance students’ learning. Realizing that providing a bright and inviting room for parents and students to interact within the school walls would help engage families in their children’s education, SECFU committed to transforming the parent room to that kind of environment.
