School Vacation Week Programs at the Pine Bush

The Albany Pine Bush Preserve Commission will be offering a variety of programs at the Albany Pine Bush Discovery Center during the upcoming school break, February 19-23, 2018. Programs include a series of bird-themed activities and a family trivia night. “Program participants will have a chance to build bird nest models, bird feeders, bird houses and more,” explained Sara Poggi-Decker Education Program Manager.

The week starts with the Build a Bird program. In this program, participants will learn about how birds’ bodies are built for the places they live and the things they eat, followed by a chance to create  a Pine Bush bird from a variety of materials. On Tuesday, we will be building bird nests, on Wednesday, bird feeders and on Thursday, bird houses. Friday we will close out the week by dissecting owl pellets. Tuesday evening we will be holding our first ever Pine Bush Family trivia night. “Bring your family and come test your Pine Bush knowledge at this fun evening program,” said Poggi-Decker.

Programs are $3 per person/$5 per family/Children under 5 yrs free.  Pre-registration is required for all programs. The Discovery Center is located at 195 New Karner Road in Albany.
