April 27, 2017A Schenectady Staple Has a Fresh New Face
611 Union street, the previous site of Marotta’s, is now Rare Steakhouse. Josh and Joe, previous employees of Marotta’s, jumped on the opportunity to purchase the restaurant when it became available. Their passion for food and desire to create a great dining experience led them to open Rare. They tried a temporary menu a few weeks back during the Schenectady restaurant week. They were overwhelmed at the support and kindness of the patrons. The menu, after being tweaked, is now a great variety of steak options and lite fare items. The ribbon cutting held on April 26th, had a great turnout of Chamber Ambassadors, local officials, family, friends and staff. The weather cleared just in time to cut the ribbon. Josh along with his staff will be there to serve the patrons of Schenectady and beyond. Please support this reinvestment in the city when you have the opportunity. You won’t be disappointed!
