July 21, 2015Schenectady Public Library Presents DRAW IT! Exploring the Art of Illustrated Story Telling with Ira Marcks
Hot on the heels of their Extremely successful Electric City Comic Con, Schenectady County Public Library is excited to announce another fun program that is sure to get everyone excited! DRAW IT! Exploring the Art of Illustrated Story telling with Ira Marcks is a two-part workshop about exploring creativity using the medium of comics that will be held on Thursday August 6 and 13 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the McChesney Room at Schenectady Conty Public Library, 99 Clinton Street in Schenectady.
The topics include brainstorming, storytelling, character design, developing style and directing action. Artists will work together developing plots, sharing options and having fun while expressing themselves. Illustrated narratives are one of the most effective ways to communicate ideas. A great learning experience for artists with an interest not only in comics and cartooning, but graphic design, gaming, social media, film and other methods of visual storytelling. The course is led by artist, Ira Marcks of Tiger Trap Studio. Materials will be provided. Ages 14+.
