Schenectady Habitat Adds New Board Member, Re-elects Slate of Officers for 2017

Habitat for Humanity Schenectady County announces the appointment of a new member to its Board of Directors, as well as the full slate of officers for 2017.

Joining the Schenectady Habitat board is Heather M. Graham, Digital Director for The Daily Gazette. Graham has a long history of community service and working with nonprofit organizations. She has been a mentor and Program Advisory Committee member with Girls Write Now; a program leader at the American Cancer Society’s Camp Adventure; a planning committee member for the Central Brooklyn Relay for Life; and volunteers for other organizations.

“Heather brings a genuine level of commitment and talent to our board,” said Madelyn Thorne, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Schenectady County. “She arrives at an exciting time for Schenectady Habitat as we have surpassed building 50 homes and are now in the midst of developing a new strategic plan.”

At the board’s annual election in January, Caroline Boardman (Buzz Media Solutions) and Cathy Lewis (President – Schenectady City School District School Board) were both re-elected to serve their second three year terms.

The full slate of officers/executive committee was also re-elected for a second one-year term with Miriam Cajuste (Schenectady County Affirmative Action Manager) as President, Rev. Dr. Bill Levering (First Reformed Church of Schenectady) as Vice-President, Lawrence Curran (retired – Emerson Process Management) as Treasurer and Caroline Boardman as Secretary.
