Schenectady Day Nursery (SDN) recently celebrated the 115th year of its founding at a gala catered party at Key Hall at Proctors. Honorary chairs Neil and Jane Golub and 130 guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres, a sit down dinner with wine pairings, music by “Kevin Green & Doug Chilton & Friends”, birthday cake and a mission auction to benefit the nutrition program at SDN with LeGrande Serras volunteering as auctioneer. Joyce Newkirk, President of Zonta of Schenectady and Dawn Neville from the Creative Advantage were presented with special awards for exceptional philanthropic and professional level voluntary service.
SDN has been providing affordable child care, including nutritious breakfasts and lunches, for children of working families since 1902. Generous sponsorship donations from 1st National Bank of Scotia, Ayco, Benchemark Printing, Boscia’s Liquor Discount House, the Creative Advantage, The Daily Gazette, Dimension Fabrications, Galesi Group, Higgins, Roberts & Suprunowicz, P.C., M&T Bank, Mazzone Hospitality, MVP Health Care, Price Chopper/Market 32, Price Chopper’s Golub Foundation, Sondra’s Fine Jewelry, Synthesis Architects LLP, and Trustco Bank contributed to the success of the event.
