Schenectady ARC Hires New Family Nurse Practitioner

Rhonda M. Esposito, FNP-BC, has been named as family nurse practitioner at Schenectady ARC.Esposito will be part of the medical team at Ridge Health Services, providing primary care services to six hundred patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

“We are excited to welcome Rhonda to Schenectady ARC. Her experience in the field working with people with developmental and intellectual disabilities coupled with her clinical experience make her a great addition to our team,” said Sue Pinto, senior associate executive director for Schenectady ARC.

Esposito has been a board-certified family nurse practitioner since 2016, and a registered nurse since 1996.Her nurse practitioner experience includes working in both family and internal medicine, and her background and experience encompass 12 years of nursing education for nursing schools located within the Capital Region.

Her first experiences working with the developmentally disabled were in nursing school and when she was employed as a resident instructor/team leader in a community residence and an intermediate care facility.

In addition to working in acute care and nursing education, Esposito also became involved working as a residential nurse for a voluntary agency and for NYS Office of People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD). She is also a volunteer provider for the Albany County Medical Reserve Corps.

“Nursing to me, has never been just a job.It has been and continues to be, a heart and soul experience. It is about taking that extra step, being an advocate and making each one of my patients feel that they matter,” said Esposito.

When not spending time with family, her two dogs, Daisy and Ivan, Esposito, a resident of Albany, NY, enjoys crafts, gardening, reading, photography, cooking and the great outdoors.
