Schenectady ARC Hires New Assistant Executive Director for Residential Services

Tracey Sosa has joined Schenectady ARC as the new Assistant Executive Director for Residential Services. As part of her leadership role, Tracey supervises the agency’s 21 group homes as well as 22 apartments in the Community Living Program.

Sosa originally began her career at Schenectady ARC first as a Residential Supervisor at Kirvin House and later as Program Manager for the Kirvin and Lewis homes.  After leaving the area she continued to work in program management supporting individuals with disabilities across the country in a variety of different settings including employment, behavioral health and managed care settings.

She was integral in creating the first ever Disability Resource Center at the Department of Transportation in Washington D.C. providing Federal workplace accommodations, led the expansion of secure residential services for dually diagnosed children in North Carolina and is also the recipient of a Certificate of Commendation for her work supporting military families impacted by disabilities at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune.  Her most recent experience involved creating a paperless system for Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and providing technical support at a school in Southeast Alaska.

Sosa has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina and a Master’s degree in Management and Disability Services from the University of San Francisco.   She has more than 15 years of experience with program management, accreditation, quality improvement initiatives, compliance activities and advocacy.
